12 Oaks Subdivision in Holly Springs was designated as one of the Best of the Best of towns in Ideal-Living magazine's 2016 selection. It has one of the best golf courses in Wake County and has single family homes as well as townhomes dotted through the community. 12 Oaks was one of the subdivisions that felt the wrath of the recession years ago. The whole development was cleared and the infrastructure was completed with only a few homes built and then went belly up for the most part. A new developer came in years later when the market turned and it is now one of the best selling golf neighborhoods in Wake County. Prices range from the $300's all the way over $1 million.
